Grade - Mr. Ed - Large - Senior - Male - Horse
Mr. Ed came to DTHR in 2007 as being starved. Ever since his arrival he has been in foster care and just recently has he filled out to his potential. Mr. Ed is our "gentle giant" and everyone loves him. He has old girth sores therefore we believe that he used to be a riding horse in the past. Mr. Ed doesn't have a mean bone in his body and just loves anything related to food. Mr. Ed has a slight lameness issue on the rear left leg. It seems that it is an old tendon issue which has healed fine but he favors this leg a little. We suspect that he had some bad experience with water in his past since he is very afraid of running water/hose and fly sprays. He stands for the farrier but gets impatient which we think may have something to do with the tendon injury, having to shift his weight. He has a slight case of allergies which doesn't seem to affect his breathing at all but on occasion he will get a runny nose and some eye discharge. Mr. Ed loves to be groomed and be a pasture puff. So far he has had his own pasture and we do not know how he will do in a herd. He has other horses around him and he is quite happy that way. We believe that Mr. Ed would make a great companion horse, possibly be a riding horse for children with adult supervision. Don't let his 25 years fool you, he has plenty of get-up and go! Mr. Ed is a lover and deserves only the best. He is up-to-date on shots and deworming, has negative coggins and had his teeth checked
