　　Shelly is a 6 year old female golden retriever mix Shelly was found as a stray when she was very young and pregnant with LadyBug. I think she had probably been abused because she tends to be shy and cowardly towards men. Last May I offered to foster her and her daughter Ladybug as they survived the tornado. The owner lives in Alberta City. She is back in her home finally but informed me that she can no longer take the dogs back. These are sweet "muts." They are healthy. They had just gotten their shots and check up when they came to live with us last May and they will be vetted prior to being adopted. They are mother and daughter. They are spay and house trained. They live in our backyard during the day and come in in the evenings and sleep inside at night. So they are outside/inside dogs. They weigh about 40 pounds. They get along with my other animals.

　　They are digging now and getting out of the yard and I have a neighbor who has basically threatened to harm them if they get in his yard. They survived the tornado - they deserve to continue to be loved and taken care of.

　　Ideally I would love it if someone could adopt both these dogs since they've been together for so long, but I suppose they could be separated.

　　Once they know and trust you though, they will just love all over you. They were in a basement during the tornado with their owner and it was fairly traumatic for them, so they dont like storms. They usually run under the bed! They are getting better at that too. Last storm we had a few weeks ago. I kept them out on the covered back porch and went out and petted and checked on them periodically until it was over. They did okay. And then of course, I let them in.
