Meet our gentle pittie girl Gidget! Gidget is a 60 lb, 5-6 year old pit bull. Gidget came from a high kill shelter up in LA County. She is a very friendly and loving girl that was lucky to get out since we discovered a large mammary mass that needed removal. It was discovered early enough that the vet was able to remove the cancerous mass in its entirety. Gidget also got a dental and has a beautiful, fresh clean smile to go along with her fresh start at life.
She's a very versatile girl. If you want a jogging partner or a couch potato to watch a movie with, Gidget is your girl. She's 75 lbs of love and affection toward her people. She'll go for a walk or a run! Still learning leash manners and doing great! Fetch is her favorite game. Tearing apart other toys is another thing she likes to do, so make sure the toys are durable and can withstand a lot of personal attention! She's housebroken, and knows how to sit and stay.
She's patient and waits for you to let her know she can start chowing down on dinner. She takes treats nicely and will sit for them too.
She gets along with other female dogs (we have 2 female dogs). But, she can be grumpy with male dogs. She does like to be the top dog so would probably work best if she were the only dog in the house. She seems especially fond of men, but we don't recommend she be placed in a home with kids, small dogs or cats, as we just don't know how she'd be around them.
Gidget needs a strong alpha leader who is familiar with the breed and willing to put in extra time and additional training to make her adjustment into her new FURever home a smooth transition.
Gidget is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $250.
All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.
We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.
All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.
Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
