Getzen Eterna 900S "Doc" Severinsen Trumpet, Silver- This trumpet was designed by Doc Severinsen for the Getzen Company when he was the VP for R&D at Getzen. He played this model of trumpet for many years starting in 1962.- Silver finish is in good condition - Valves are quick (Hetman's Classic synthetic oil used on them.)- Made in Elkhorn, WI- Serial #: SK20569 (1973-'74)- I played this horn on a regular basis for the past three years. - In my amateur opinion it sounds good and plays well but does have cosmetic issues as noted below. These could be improved upon by a repair tech but aren't required to play the horn. - The bell suffers from a sub-standard repair job that starts at about the valve block and continues into the bell bow. There are very gentle waves in the finish that I tried to capture in the photos. I wouldn't say it is horrible, but it is noticeable. - All 3 valve slides show signs of dent removal and are somewhat rough. (See photos.) - The 1st and 2nd pull knobs have been re-soldered. The 2nd valve pull knob isn't original. - Two of the 2nd valve farrells are not the originals. - The 2nd valve braces have been resoldered to the trumpet bell and leadpipe. - Occasionally the tuning slide Amado water key (resoldered and not the original?) sticks from non-use. A little oil and pushing it back fixes it. It probably needs a cleaning.Includes a Getzen Capri model case in good condition. - Also includes a Yamaha 14C4 mouthpiece.
