German Shepherd Dog - Princess Leia - Large - Adult - Female
If you are a fan of the Star Wars movies, you already know the Princess Leia character. She's a dedicated, forceful woman who was loved by Luke Skywalker, among others. She also was a full fledged member of the New Jedi Order. Enough about Star Wars because we want to tell you about our Princess Leia. She's a sweet eight month old girl who lived with a family. She did well with children in the home and attended doggie day care a couple of days each week. Unfortunately, the five year old male dog who was already in residence did not want a puppy in the house. Not only did he not want a puppy in the house, he didn't even want to try to get along with her. Leia is a very vocal dog (she must have lots of stories to tell!). When other dogs approach her, she barks loudly but once she has a chance to do a meet and greet, she is okay. She had some play time with a couple of dogs after arriving at Rescue, and Leia behaved like the happy puppy she is who likes to play rough and tumble. She most certainly has a high energy level. We'll pay close attention to fences because with her energy, she could probably clear a fence without trouble. Leia seems to know some basic commands (there's always more to learn, of course) and she pays close attention to her handler. Finally, Leia is eager to please and more than happy to give lots of puppy kisses!
