To start visit our website link below by copying and paste the link below into your browser and click the link that says 'Adoption Application' and fill it out. /dog_profile.php?ID=20072&name=Maggie Maggie is just about the perfect age for a family who has shepherd experience, doesn't need the puppy 'fun' anymore but is looking for a family member that will do everything a 'stereotypical' shepherd would do. Somewhere between 7 & 8 years old, Maggie came to us from a very sad hoarding situation. She had been chained outside, had minimal human contact, let alone animal contact for a long time. When her owner died, we were contacted to take her in. For a long time, Maggie couldn't be near other dogs without showing total aggression. Cut to now (mid 2013) and Maggie lives in a foster home with 5 other shepherds, 2 of whom are also alpha like Maggie. While it can be an adventure since Maggie believes in testing every situation to see what she can get away with, she is doing well, almost learning to play. Maggie is awesome on a leash, she sits, shakes, downs, stays, even does 'roll over' - add to that, she's housebroken! She is left inside while her foster mom works a regular 8 - 5 job Monday - Friday. She will bark if there is a reason. Another benefit? Maggie loves nothing more than water. She can go safely to dog beach and she is in the water in a nano second. This is one tremendous dog - she isn't for everyone and her ideal home would be with a mellow male or as an only dog who continues to be in situations with other dogs so she doesn't revert to 'bad girl' behavior. Someone who appreciates and has experience with a typical strong minded Shepherd will fall head over heels for Mags. She loves to be near her person, she has overcome a lot of medical conditions (serious ear infections, etc) and has waited SO LONG for her home. Could that be you?
