Description

German Shepherd Dog - Dawson - Large - Adult - Male - Dog

During one of the hottest times in Southern California, Dawson was left behind when his family packed the house and moved away. He was left alone in the back yard with a blanket, a food dish, and a bucket filled with water. He waited for his family for two weeks, wondering how the only family he had known for six years could leave him behind. When neighbors called Rescue, we welcomed Dawson into our family of rescued dogs. Shortly after arriving at Rescue, Dawson was diagnosed with a perineal hernia. He was in pain and surgery was needed. We knew that we'd never turn our back on him so with support of many people, Dawson underwent successful surgery. Now he really is ready for his forever home! He loves receiving attention and he really loves belly rubs. In fact, he's been a favorite of medical and boarding staff. He's a rough and tumble sort of guy and he can't wait to learn how to express a softer and gentler side. Life is finally kind and he is so happy to know that he'll never be left behind again. Maybe you will be his forever home and his forever family.
