German Shepherd Dog - Dash - Large - Adult - Male - Dog
A number of months ago, Dash's life turned upside down. Dash started his life as one of ten dumpster puppies who were rescued a few years ago. He was fortunate to find a family where there were four children and two dogs. Life was good. When his family came on difficult economic times and were about to lose their home, Dash came back to Rescue. Fortunately, he was soon invited to stay in a foster home while he waits for his forever home. When his foster family went on vacation, Dash took a vacation as well and stayed in a boarding kennel with some of our other adoptable dogs. Dash is doing great! He turned into a very friendly, playful and happy dog. Did we tell you that he has Addison's disease? Quite similar to the disease in humans, his disease is kept under control. Every month he receives a shot to replace the hormone responsible for maintaining electrolyte levels and a daily dose of another drug to replace the cortisol that his glands do not produce. He looks and functions like a normal, happy, energetic, and active dog. With adequate treatment, our Dash can expect to live a normal life. If you are ready to invite him into your home and your life, Dash will be there in a dash!
