Sweet Georgia is a 7 lb and 10 year old chihuahua who is looking for someone who loves pampering seniors. Georgia came into the shelter very neglected, with long nails and in desperate need of a dental. She feels so much better after her dental, loves her new food, and surfs all the small dog beds in her foster home.

Georgia does need someone to watch over her, as she is deaf and has limited sight due to cataracts. Scent and Touch are the main ways to communicate. She blissfully leans into gentle scratches at her neck, and appreciates the vanilla scent marker at the back door. Soft yummy smelling treats get her attention, and she appreciates you tapping her bed to wake her up.

Georgia quickly figured out that the 4 zip ties attached to her collar act as long whiskers, and she is more adventurous and sure stepping every day. Do not leave her unattended on a bed or couch or chair. Her bed should be on the floor at night. She is very respectful of the foster's cat and would happily share a comfy bed in the sun. She is very quiet and does not bark at noises.

Georgia needs a one-story home without stairs or a pool, gentle humans with predicable schedules, furniture that doesn't move, and not a lot of extra stuff on the floors. A combination of safe exploration combined with food right-sized for chihuahuas (and a glucosamine chondroitin supplement to sooth her joints) has this senior girl getting more out of life than she ever did in the past.

Are you her person? She would love to meet you, and her foster family can help you determine if Georgia is the dog for you. Georgia is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccines. Her $150 adoption fee helps Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. If you think you would like to meet Georgia, please fill out an application at: today!
