Gale HIFI acrylic optical servo turntable with xk50 tone arm. This was a vintage experiment from the 70s. Made by Ira Gale in the UK with help from Dr. Sao Win. The table features two lucite plinths the upper supports a trio of towers very similar to what Oracle used, but way before oracle. The motor is a high torque brushless design adapted from shipboard gyro and features a floating magnetic bearing. The unique motor system is a direct drive dc servo motor pod that hangs within an upper plinth opening. It features a integral small dia. The stainless steel platform incorporating the the spindle that rotates at the chosen speed 10-99 rpm, atop that rides a triangular plate with three stainless cylinder that support the LP. The out board motor controller is a quartz locked motor variable speed with led digital display. This is one of 60 ever made. Here’s a short list of the only know remaining( J.
