Gabriel's story
Gabriel has one of the best smiles on the shelter block!
The sad thing is, though- Garbriel doesn't have a ton to smile about. He is the West shelter's second longest longtimer, and has been waiting for forever since Nov. 20th. :-( Gabriel is kind of an anxious guy, and so that makes it hard for him to bond with people he has just met (like a potential adopter). In playgroup, he runs in and says hi to everyone (two and four legged), then trots off on his own. Hey, I can appreciate someone who likes their "me" time lol. ;-) He does enjoy playing from time to time, and I think once he settles in a home, he may make a great buddy for your dog at home.
During the time we spent together, Gabriel was pretty anxious in the yard. I took him on a long walk around the trail and he definitely settled and seemed less anxious away from all the sights and sounds of the shelter.
From his intake photo, it's clear Gabriel hasn't had the best life so far; he had a thick, dirty collar on and looked very beat down. :-( Gabriel is yet another dog that needs a patient, loving home to help show him what family life is all about. Bring your dog in and say hello to 4 yr old Gabriel at the MCAC West shelter at 2500 S. 27th Ave., Phx. Hours are 11-6 Mon-Fri and 11-5 Sat & Sun. Gabriel's $20 adoption fee includes neuter, rabies certificate and County license.
