Update from foster:
Thank you for your interest. I have been fostering this special needs Chihuahua for a little over a month now. She is about 1.5 years old has high anxiety and fear as well as some physical issues - deformities of the hind legs. She is on two medications currently, but hope with time to wean those down. She did not do well in the shelter, and had a tough time in other foster homes, but I have taken her on to help rehabilitate her to trust people and the home environment. I`m also working on house training her.
She has made some nice gains and really enjoys other animals. She does not like to be picked up, but once in your arms or lap does well. She shows many signs of living on the streets with a bit of pacing. I am training her with a crate, but she at first did not like it though is becoming more accustomed.
She has also needed to eat 3 times a day. Has an extremely high metabolism and will search out food if not fed about every 4-5 hrs. She is starting to settle more, loves to play, and trusting more with patience, love and care. She needs a home that has time, understanding of special needs, patience, and big heart.
