　　I have two Black Copper Marans roosters over Pure Bev Davis and Wade Jean line Hens. The Black Copper Marans eggs that my hens are laying are the drastically darker eggs in the photos below. Hens were bought as chicks from a breeder who is seeking the APA Standard and supposedly knows Bev Davis herself. With special order I can have pure Wade line available by closing my flocks but for now the two roosters are out together with the hens. One rooster originated from Cottage Hill Line which involved Ron Presley but I was told that he is a 1/2 Davis. I'm not too concerned because his sisters were throwing 8 scale eggs. Both roosters hatched out of a #8 color eggs on the marans scale. The second rooster was a carefully selected descendant of Green Fire Farms chicks and is a Pure Wade line roo. I have some experimental chickens out with my BCM hens and I throw in a few of those eggs with the dozen BCM eggs if you would like, just ask. You will be able to determine which of the chicks the pure Black Copper Marans are by the time they hit about 6 weeks old as they will have feathered shanks and nice copper in the hackles. If you are interested in starting with chicks I will hatch them out for $7 a chick, straight run. I have been doing this for my enjoyment as a hobby and from that I want you to have a good experience as well.
