FREEDOM's story
Freedom was brought to the animal shelter because her previous owners were unable to afford her veterinary care. Initially, it was believed that Freedom suffered from some past trauma to her hip; however, diagnostics revealed that Freedom actually has a congenital defect in the form of an extra vertebrae, which she was born with. There is nothing that can be done surgically about this issue, management will be in the form of a monthly injection that will help alleviate the discomfort associated with the extra vertebrae and her increasing arthritis as she ages. Freedom has already started these injections and is feeling much better! Freedom also suffered from a small mass on her bottom which was removed, and had several dental extractions. Freedom is looking for a loving home that will appreciate her friendliness and big personality, but will also be dedicated to providing the care that she will need as an older dog. If you are interested in Freedom and have questions about her monthly injections, please ask at the front desk!
