I am looking for a loving, attentive home for my puppy Bear. Deciding to part ways with him has been one of the hardest decisions. He has brought so much joy to my life, but unfortunately is no longer a good fit for our family.. When we got him as a puppy, we weren't sure what breed his was. So my lack of knowledge to what he needed made it harder. We recently looked into more of what he could be, and I strongly believe he is an Anatolian Shepherd. Just a smaller one. He is beautiful, his coloring, his face, his soft coat, everything about him. He has 2 extra toes on both back feet, which is unique and darling in my eyes!! He LOVES water. If I don't close the bathroom door, he will jump in the bath with my daughter!! He could play in water all day. He LOVES the dog park and making new friends. And he loves playing with toys at home with his people, he's a very playful feisty boy! The reason we came to this decision is because of old behaviors that became more intense, and new behaviors he's been showing. He growls at my daughter at times, and is leash aggressive. He's very protective of his food, you cannot pet him at all if he's by his food and water. He seems to be a lot more comfortable with males. He would be best in a home with NO kids, and someone who can afford training, and take him out on a regular basis. We recently had my family/ siblings over and he lunged at my little sister, I don't feel he would have bit her, but it definitely an INTENSE warning. This is NOT a beginners dog. If you search "Anatolian shepherd" online you will understand more of his background and why he's cautious with strangers and very protective of certain things. I believe he's had bad experiences with women because he seems to be more alert and caseous with them, same with kids, he's more comfortable and trusting of men. He's now 8 months I believe, and has so many darling traits. I truly adore him. And I will say he's VERY SMART and intelligent. Potty training was a breeze, teaching him to sit and stay was as well. After a couple times of teaching him something he catches on. He loves learning, and he's amazing at it!! He's never been to formal training, just with me at home, so he has so much he could be learning!!
Being a stay at home mom it was hard to give him all that he needs. I just want him to be happy in a home where he feels safe, loved, and is learning everyday.
