My story
Heâs a big-time cuddle bunny!
Hi, guys! My name is Frankie, and Iâm a 8-year-old Lab mix male, weighing in at 57 pounds. Iâm a sweet and lovable guy who is already house-trained and potty-trained. I am fully crate trained too, and put myself in there at night too. Plus, Iâve already been neutered, Iâm easily trainable and I hardly bark or make any noise. About leash training, I'm making great strides. I can get confrontational on-leash with bigger dogs. Continued positive reinforcement will help me in the long run. Do I sound like two paws up or what?
My backstory, however, isnât the brightest. I was picked up from a Tijuana Costco last October in rough shape. Thankfully, though, TAP took me in just in time and nursed me back to health. Iâm a proud TVT survivor, and I had a tumor in my sinus cavity at the time of my rescue, but that has since been successfully treated and cleared. There was a small hole where the tumor was, and I had palate repair surgery, and it was fixed! I also had some dental work done and I am a half-toothed monster who enjoys kibble. Rawrrrrr!Â
Now, letâs get to a little bit about me! Iâm basically just an olâ sweetheart who is loyal to the core. I love giving kisses, getting pets, belly scratches, and lying on top of you for some solid lovin' as a lap dog. Iâm also always smiling. My favorite activities include hikes, playing with other doggie friends, squeaky toys, and napping. Iâm also a huge fan of walking. Show me a leash or my walking collar, and Iâll get super excited and start jumping around! I also do well in a crate when you leave. I am quite good with small dogs both on and off leash, but I can get confrontational on-leash with bigger ones. Slow introduction will help with meeting them.
Iâve been told that Iâd make an excellent companion since I prefer to be in the same room as you.  I would also enjoy having a small size doggie sibling or two since I love playing and being around other doggie friends. I have become friends with my foster-feline sibling because he is social, though I can chase too. So if you have a cat that would like to be best buds with me and I am given time to acclimate, cats in a home will be okay! I have been around some kids, but because I have a habit of jumping up in excitement, keep an eye out. Check out my Instagram at @frankiefromtap for more photos and videos! So, are you ready for a big, goofy dog who will reward you with all the love you could ever want? My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/
