Meet handsome and kind Franke! Franke is a 10-12 year old, 14 lb poodle-bichon mix. Franke is a special guy with special needs but full of love and life! Poor little Franke was dumped at a shelter night drop with limited information. The shelter staff knew he needed some TLC and didn't have the means to provide him with the medical care he badly needed. We decided to take him in and get him to our vet right away and he got much needed blood work, X-rays and ultrasounds. He was diagnosed with a heart murmur and was placed on long term heart medication. He had several large kidney stones & cysts removed. Franke also limited vision due to cataracts in both eyes. He also got a fresh dental cleaning with extractions.

Despite all this Franke is sweet as pie and great with dogs & cats of all sizes. Franke loves all people- kids and adults. He is couch cuddler and will dance on his hind legs to get you to pick him up to join you on the couch. He loves lots of human attention but does easily startle when petted on the head. He is a master at napping, if there is a dog bed on the floor he will find it and curl up for a nice long nap. He is not very active or playful. He would make a great pet for a senior or someone with a non-active lifestyle. He will sleep through the night in his own bed or would love to sleep with you. Franke learns his way around easily and will find his way to the door and bark to let you know when he needs to go out. Franke's requirements are a family that will love him dearly, get him regular grooms to keep him looking sharp and upkeep his heart medication & special diet. He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccines. Franke's adoption fee is $150.

All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.

We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience. To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.

All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.

Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
