Frank's story
Meet Frank! If youre one for the dark, mysterious, brooding type then youre going to love Frank. Frankie-boy may at first seem shy and standoffish, but underneath that cloak of mystery is a big ol softie who just wants head rubs and a warm lap. And once youve earned his trust he is a sweet, docile, laid-back boy with a dash of sass. Frank came from a hoarding situation (not of animals), where the owner of the house would let him hang around to catch mice which accumulated from the hoarding. However, the house owner did not bring Frank in during inclement weather, feed, take Frank to the vet, or otherwise take care of him in any capacity. The house has since been condemned by the city. Therefore, surrounding neighbors would feed him. One night in early November 2018, after a few days of snow, Frank came to one of the neighbors who fed him with a very bad upper respiratory infection and what appeared to be a fight wound to one of his eyes. Frank, who would normally not let you touch him, was allowing them to handle him and bring him inside. And since then he has been in their care as a foster! It has taken him some time, but hes quickly learned (still kind of learning) how to be a refined,
domestic kitty. He immediately took to the litter box, and scratching posts, and he even likes to play with toys now! His future owner should be patient and understanding as Frank continues to learn how to cat.
Frank is estimated to be about two years old, and has been neutered, microchipped, treated for parasites, and is up-to-date on all his vaccinations. Frank is negative for FeLV, but POSITIVE for FIV (we theorize that the wound to his eye is how this was contracted); however, he can still lead a very normal and healthy life with the right owner! Frank is friendly and curious around other kitties. He was slowly introduced to them and their time together is still monitored. But we think in-time they could eventually cohabitate together with no issues. Frank has not been introduced to dogs. We think Frank would do best in a calm environment without children or at least more mature children who understand boundaries, since he can get a little sassy when being pet or held.
Frank is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations; DOB 1/1/17 (tag # Kylie).
