Giant is a 1956 Epic Movie starring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean. Based on the book by Edna Ferber, the movie is more popular for being James Dean's last duty (some of his lines needed to be dubbed).
The movie is about the Benedict household, beginning when Texan Rancher Jordan "Bick" Benedict heads east to Maryland to acquire War Winds from Dr. Lynnton and winds up weding his child, socialite Leslie. They begin life at Bick's ranch, Reatta, and have 3 kids. Leslie has a tough time dealing with the sexism and bigotry of Bick and bascially everybody around her, she leaves Bick for a time but they ultimately integrate. After Bick's sister passes away, she leaves Jett Rink a small plot of land, which he refuses to offer to Bick despite the fact that he's provided more than once its value. He then strikes oil, which eventually occurs around the region with even Bick getting rich off oil after he promised to keep the cattle ranch just cattle. Bick's attitudes are tested when his children grow up and not just do none of them wish to run the ranch after him, however his only kid Jordy marries, Juana, a Mexican-American.
