Foxy's story
Adoption fee on this dog is $300.
Foxy is an approximate 6 year old, black and tan petite female weighing about 50 lbs, but can stand to put on some weight. She came to a local shelter as a stray, so her previous life remains a mystery. She is a reserved and affectionate girl with low to medium energy.
Currently, Foxy lives in a foster home with a young, active male (See Sonny, available Males for adoption) with whom she gets along well, although she has yet to understand his need to "fetch the ball" or seek play. Foxy prefers a calm environment, thus, she will do best in a home without small children. She gets startled on occasion and feels the need to defend herself if she feels overwhelmed. This gal responds well to corrections and guidance, such that she seems to overcome these situations rapidly.
Foxy's house manners are impressive. She will lay close to her human, almost undetectably, yet ready to receive pets and belly rubs. She walks very well on leash, although does seem to lag behind. She sleeps quietly in a crate and appears to be housebroken. Foxy has been somewhat finicky about food and is more motivated by praise. She seems to already know basic commands and enjoys car rides.
