We are running a special price on doing timing chains on the Explorer, Ranger and Mustangs with the 4.0L engines. This is timing chain and guides only, if you need to have the heads pulled for bent valves or the oil pump changed there will be additional costs.

　　the 1 4.0L engine is $1600 parts and labor. This is to change all the timing chains, both cartridges and balance shaft chains and guides. Depending on whether you have a 2wd or 4wd truck the engine or transmission may be pulled to access the right side chain and guides.

　　Parts will include a timing chain set, all needed guides and tensioners, both cassettes, jackshaft rear plug , both jackshaft bolts, front crankshaft bolt, timing cover gasket set, valve cover gasket set and intake manifold gasket set. We use Felpro gaskets where available. The bolts and jackshaft plug are FORD OEM. The timing chain set is typically cloyes. If you only need the drivers side cassette changed the price becomes much better. Since all parts must be ordered from out of town it typically takes a 5 days in the shop.
