Spring is arriving.......sort of LOL; there is a small storm coming thru this week. The lower Sac is in great shape too. The lower Sac through Redding is still fishing well and should remain good to great until the spring rains change the conditions. We are catching 14" to 17" native rainbows routinely. Good casters are finding multiple fish over 18".... We are expecting some cooler weather (highs around 60)over the next week and the flows are down to 3700 cfs so I am expecting fishing to be very good. The water is clearing after the big raines last week.
As the flows drop and the temps warm a bit and we drift slowly into spring the river levels may drop a bit more and the fish will concentrate into specific lanes; and the casting and the catching gets easier to. The larger trout have followed the salmon into the upper river which makes for exciting action and gorgeous scenery. The salmon have died off leaving the ravenous trout looking for food; advantage fisherman.
I have a comfortable 16' drift boat and I know where to go, what to use, and when to be there. Have you wanted to learn or get better at fly fishing? I know these waters well with over 30 years experience. Drop me a line and we can make arrangements that will meet your budget and skill level. I tie my own specialty flies and I know where to put them.
All ages are welcome! I am a licensed and bonded guide. My boat is spacious, safe, comfortable. Let me customize a trip for you that will meet your fishing skill level, your love for adventure and meet your budgetary requirements.
Please check out my web site... it is 'under construction'
