The nights are getting just a bit longer and there is plenty of cool water and the fish are ansy and hungry. The lower Sac and other rivers (Pit, upper Sac, Hat Creek and Mcloud) are all in good shape too. The lower Sac through Redding is still fishing well and should remain good to great through the Fall season .We are catching 15" to 18" native rainbows routinely. Good casters are finding multiple fish over 20"....
As the season cools and we drift slowly into fall the river levels will drop and the fish will concentrate into specific lanes; and the casting and the catching gets easier to. The larger trout will follow the salmon into the upper river which makes for exciting action and gorgeous scenery.
I have a comfortable 16' drift boat and I know where to go, what to use, and when to be there. Have you wanted to learn or get better at fly fishing? I know these waters well with over 30 years experience. Drop me a line and we can make arrangements that will meet your budget and skill level. I tie my own specialty flies and I know where to put them.
All ages are welcome! I am a licensed and bonded guide. My boat is spacious, safe, comfortable. Let me customize a trip for you that will meet your fishing skill level, your love for adventure and meet your budgetary requirements.
Please check out my web site... it is 'under construction'. /
