Floyd's story
Floyd came into our facility as a stray which means we do not have any background history on him. He is very shy but sweet. He tolerated all aspects of the exam. Because of how shy he is, Floyd will need plenty of time to adjust to a new home and environment.
When Flyod gets into his new home, he should start out in a single room (i.e. the bedroom, office) that still gets a lot of foot traffic but isn't as overwhelming as opening him up to the entire house. It is very important to visit with him multiple times a day (first starting by just talking to him and gradually working your way up to petting him and coaxing him out with treats). He will most likely hide at first, and should stay in the single room until he is actively coming out and seeking attention on his own. Once Floyd is adjusted and seems relaxed in the single room, you can slowly introduce him to the rest of the house and the other pets.
