My story
01/11/23
Flint was sent out for veterinary diagnostics to see if there was a medical issue that had been causing him to have accidents in his former home. There was sediment observed in his urine, and he has now been prescribed a canned urinary diet. One of the blood tests also revealed that he may have been exposed to feline leukemia. More tests were performed which were negative, however to be completely cleared he will need to be retested with a negative result after 1/29/23. Until that time, Flint should not be in direct contact with other cats for their safety. Re-testing for feline leukemia and another ultrasound to check his bladder will both be covered under The Shelter Fund. 12/24/22
Mr. Flint is looking for a quiet home with a patient owner that will let him come around on his own terms. Flint was surrendered to the shelter after his most recent owner discovered they were not a good fit. Flint has had some upheaval in his life recently, with his previous owner PCSing and finding himself at the shelter after just a month in his most recent home. Flint can be a little wary of new people and surroundings. He was decribed as being more comfortable with men. He was said to do best with older children and to run away from dogs and kids that don't respect his boundaries. Flint was said to try and play with other cats and to ignore pocket pets. Please make sure to do any introductions to other animals very slowly and in a controlled manner. Flint was described as being shy but friendly, affectionate and rough when playing. If you are interested in adding this handsome guy to your quiet home, please give the shelter a call!January 12, 2023, 11:20 pm
