I was going through my belongings from childhood and I discovered after doing research that I had a few very rare books and stuffed animals.

It is a first edition (American), second state with a four line colophon records "BOUND BY The Book Press, N.Y. and there is no mention of Charlie series. It is hardcover red cloth with blindstamp to front board, gilt titles on spine, green endpapers and no topstain. It has a non clipped dust jacket with the $3.95 price. The text block tight and white. This book is very rare, I also have a rare copy of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, also first edition second state.
