My story
Fern is a super playful and interactive kitten. She is always trying to do "sneak attacks" and is very mischievous. She loves playing with her cat toys, especially catnip and the noisy plastic balls. She is also super sweet and loves cuddles and kisses. She has a very loud purr box that doesn't have a "down volume", and she's super funny and cute. Fern was found in a dumpster in New York and was in terrible shape, but now she is doing so much better! She is absolutely beautiful and we suspect she is a Nebelung (long haired Russian Blue), but this is just a guess. She has a super thick, long coat and is an adorable ball of fluff. Fern currently has "single kitten syndrome" (a LOT of energy and very hyper) - we are assuming she was weaned too early and didn't have exposure to other cats during the important socialization stage. Once Fern receives her final vetting in a couple weeks, she will be introduced to our other kittens and her profile will be updated on whether she does well with other cats or not.
Fern is not available to leave for her new home yet. She can be pre-adopted (reserved with a deposit) but can't leave until mid December - she still needs final vetting which includes her spay surgery. By the time Fern is ready for her new home, she will be spayed, tested for FIV/FeLV, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting this sweet girl, please fill out our adoption application here: /adoption-application.html. For local families, there is no phone interview required. If your application is approved, then we can move forward with planning a visit. Once we receive your application, we will get back to you shortly!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fern, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
