FAWKES's story
Email my foster caregiver about me! - [email protected]
Fawkes is a gentle and shy husky mix who is recovering from valley fever and malabsorption issues. Unlike a typical husky, Fawkes` fur requires very little extra grooming and he is fairly low energy. He is house trained, kennel trained, well behaved, and mild mannered. He does well with other dogs and cats. He loves to go for daily walks and rest inside on comfortable dog beds. He would shine best in a quiet home with one or two happy and balanced canine companions to help him overcome his timidness and hopefully teach him how to trust.
Most unfortunately, this gentle boy had a hard life. He needs someone who is patient, kind, and understanding of his nature. In general, he prefers female handlers. Once he opens up to you, he is devoted and sweet. However, he will need time to adjust. Until his valley fever and malabsorption issues clear up, he will require daily medication and regular veterinarian visits to monitor his health. Fawkes is so named after a phoenix character because the staff were sure he would not live. However, Fawkes overcame many obstacles to be `reborn` into a better life. We hope you will open your hearts to this survivor and give him all the love and dedication he deserves.
