The FamilySAFE iis an all welded steel unit engineered to exceed FEMA's performance criteria. This is accomplished by building a class-three bullet resistant steel on the roof and all sides . TThe unit can support over 100,000 lbs. stacked on top of it . That's about 25 mid-sized cars. The unit has a very low threshold , allowing for easy entry by any person in a wheelchair or using a walker. The unit has one of the strongest doors available in the industry , and incorporates FamilySAFE's patent pending SAFE-T door . This unique system allows thhe door to be opened several different ways , ensuring that getting trapped inside is next to impossible . The original unit door is held closed using three matching stainless steel class-one deadbolts that are all keyed alike . These deadbolts allow the unit to be as a vault or gun safe and in instances qualifies as a tax deduction .
