Extremely rare Eb (high pitch)
cornet by Isaac Fiske of Worcester, Massachusetts. The cornet is silver-plated
brass with three-piston (top) action string-operated rotary valves. The silver
plating is in excellent condition. All slides, valves, valve caps, and pistons
move freely. There is a patch on the first valve upper tube, a patch on the lead
pipe, and one on the third valve bottom tube. The German silver mouthpiece is
not original to the cornet, and there is no case. The cornet plays beautifully.
This is a wonderful example of an extremely rare cornet by an important
American maker.

established his firm in 1842 in Worcester, Massachusetts. In 1887, Fiske retired
and sold his company to G.C. Conn.
