My story
Evie is a sweet social little girl who is a normal kitty who loves to run and play and snuggle. However she does have one thing that sets her apart. She has a heart condition called Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) which basically means she has a hole that allows blood to flow between the left and right ventricles of the heart in a way it is not supposed to. Many kitties affected by this condition require no treatment and have a good prognosis. Evie's hole is pretty large for her small size. She is under the care of a cardiologist and will need to be rechecked at the end of this year. If Evie's heart continues to grow in size and the hole does not her future is pretty bright. This is what we are hoping for. If the defect grows in size along with the heart then she is looking at a bit more care required and likely some lifelong medications. Is Evie a kitten suitable for just anyone? No. Is she a kitten who would love to find her own family who would love her and care for her, knowing that her long term future is not completely clear? Absolutely. We don't want her medical condition to keep her from having a chance. If you are interested in meeting and adopting Evie please consider putting in an application! Note - KKHR will be covering her cardiac checkup in December.Available for adoption from Kitty Kat Haven and RescueHoover, AL 35226
