My story
Eve is a dog with one heck of a background. She was found as a stray by Team Goldendog of St. Maarten. That’s right, she’s an island dog! When Hurricane Irma hit in October 2017, she was evacuated to the U.S. and eventually ended up with her foster mama here in Michigan, who happens to be an amazing professional trainer. Turns out Eve is an easy and quick learner: she now knows sit, come, down, target with her paw, roll over, and to scratch her nails down on a sandpaper board. We’re thinking there’s retriever in her because she’s not only super smart, but she’s incredibly friendly to every person she meets. She likes kids too; but she’s still an energetic 6 to 7ish years young, so we recommend maybe kindergarten and up. She also has done well with other dogs with a slow introduction.
Eve has been on an incredible journey, from sandy beaches to the rough Michigan winters. She’s been waiting for years for her journey to reach its final destination of a loving forever family so please share this smart, happy girl! Eve will be your sunny and care-free piece of beach life to keep all year round!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Eve, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
