Ethel 29901's story
Ethel is a 6-month-old female Shepherd mix who must be spayed before she is adopted. Her mahogany brown coat is super shiny and she has white markings. Ethel weighs 34 pounds and she is considered to be a medium sized dog. You might wonder how she ended up at PAHS. She was left tied to the door of a local vet clinic and their staff brought her to PAHS so she could find a great home. Ethel is goofy, funny, and very playful. She always has her tongue out! Ethel loves to have her tummy rubbed; and she is very affectionate. Ethel knows the basic command 'sit' so she is smart; and she would be easy to train since she is willing to please. This gorgeous sweetheart of a dog has her own unique look and a personality to match! Come out and meet Ethel. We think you will love her!
You may remember our directed spay/neuter campaign this past spring--'Spay Neuter Autauga County'-- which was made possible by a $20,000 Petco Lifesaving Grant. PAHS has remaining funds from this grant and we are happy to announce that effective December 1, 2018 all adoptions will be reduced by half! For the month of December (as funds will allow) cat adoption fees will be $25 and dog adoptions $60. We are thrilled to offer this gift to the animals and people of our community. Upon partnering with Petco and receiving these monies, PAHS pledged to work toward 'live outcomes' with shelter animals; we believe half-price adoptions will fulfill this promise and is a great way to end the year! Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter certificate, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heartworm negative.
