My story
Meet wiggly, wonderful Emma!Hi, I'm Emma! I'm a 2 year old spayed female terrier/lab mix, and I weigh around 35-40 lbs. I came to The Animal Pad after being rescued off the streets of Tijuana, and I had a bit of trouble walking on my front legs. I went to the vet and was diagnosed with a condition called cerebral hypoplasia, which means I have some fluid in my skull and spine that interferes with my balance and makes me wobbly. I was probably born this way and I'm not in any pain! But I've been on steroids which have improved my movement a lot--although I still have a bit of a wobble, periodic treatments of steroids throughout my life will control the condition and help me walk almost normally. My wobbly walk has never slowed me down though, and I'm a happy girl who loves to play! I'm lover of all people, including kids, and a world class snuggler. I love to play with toys and sunbathe in the yard. Other dogs are great too--I'm always down to wrestle and romp with my foster sisters. I live with a cat and chickens right now but I'm a little too interested in them and probably shouldn't live with them in my forever home. I am potty trained, great on leash, and working on learning how to sit. My condition makes me a bit of a slow learner, but I'm very eager to please and I'm treat motivated, so patience is key!I'll be a great addition to just about any loving family, especially one with dogs and people to play with me! My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
