My story
Meet Elmer!Elmer is a super special guy looking for a super special home! This handsome cat was born with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), otherwise known as "wobbly cat syndrome" - but hey, nobody is purrrfect!Cerebellar hypoplasia occurs when a kitten is born with an underdeveloped cerebellum, causing difficulties with balance and movement. This doesn't hurt or bother Elmer at all though, and "wobbly cats" can live normal, happy, wonderful lives!Cats with CH usually need a few special considerations for their new home environment. Cats with this disorder should be kept away from stairs to avoid injury and could benefit from things like ramps to furniture, large easy to enter litterboxes, sturdy feeding bowls, etc. We're still learning more about Elmer's sweet personality, but so far we know nothing holds him back and that he LOVES chin rubs! For additional information please contact the adoption staff at
or email [email protected]! We are happy to answer any questions you may have.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Elmer, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
