Ellie Mae's story

　　Do you need a lap warmer before winter gets here? Ellie Mae is a lap warmer extraordinaire, and she's now looking for her FORever lap to curl up in! Ellie is a 1.5 year old, 13 pound Beagle x Jack Russel Terrier female. She's the perfect blend of small/portable and active/fun! Ellie loves all dogs, and she's even good with cats, pigs, and horses. (She is fostered on a horse farm in Huntsville, AL.) Ellie is unique because she is the type of dog who will happily match her person's activity level. If you want to go hiking in the woods, she's game to go as long as you want! Or if you want to just chill on the couch and binge watch Netflix, she loves that too! She just really wants to be with HER person, and she would do best with a family who is at home often and can keep her company. Ellie would be perfect for an active retired/senior couple or for a family with a stay at home parent.

　　Ellie walks perfectly on a leash, and she loves to join her foster siblings on woods walks. Ellie is house trained (with access to a doggie door) and rides well in a car. She sleeps all night curled up with her foster mom. Ellie has not been around human children, but we think she would be fine with them as long as they aren't too young and hyper.
