Dutch is crate trained and house trained. He barks rarely, but expresses when he is happy. He does not beg for food. Dutch often submissively smiles. It looks like he is snarling, but he is actually very happy. He is a very smart dog and knows several tricks (Sit, Down, Sit pretty, Spin, Bed, Stay, Wait, Crawl) and can be walked off leash. He is very active and needs to be exercised daily. Dutch loves to play in the snow, go hiking / backpacking in the summer. He carried his own doggie backpack with his food and water and blanket for camping. He used to pull on the leash, but the problem has been solved with a harness. He also loves car rides. Dutch is dog friendly and can be brought to dog parks. We do not know how he behaves with cats. He gets very excited with wild life and would like to chase (squirrels, rabbits, deers...). We usually make him sleep in the living room and invite him in the bedroom (but not on the bed) in the morning. He knows where the boundaries are. He loves to sit with us on the sofa. He does not play much, some time with a tag of war or a bone. He loves to spend time in the garden. Dutch is very friendly with women. He can be scared of unknown men. Once someone is in Dutchs circle of trust though, he is very welcoming. We do not know how he behave with kids.
