DUSTY's story

　　Dusty was surrendered to the shelter due to being uncooperative with the other dogs while mushing. According to the previous owner, Dusty would fight with the other dogs on the team and would go after oncoming dog teams. While at the shelter Dusty has been temperament tested and showed to be friendly and calm with different types of dogs in the shelter environment. Dusty has been kept as a sled dog and will need some time to become accustomed to living indoors, although he appears to enjoy a comfy blanket and has been friendly with the other dogs at the shelter. Dusty may feel most comfortable when he is outside, for this reason he may not show signs of dog reactivity while indoors, but only once he is comfortable in his environment. It is recommended that potential adopters bring all members of the family in to visit with Dusty, especially dogs. Dusty would also do better in a home with no young children. An active person that will have the time to work with Dusty on his house training and make sure he is exercised daily would be best for Dusty.
