My story
All of our dogs are housed in private homes, we do not have a store or a shelter. We do not show dogs to interested parties until they have an approved adoption application. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an adoption application on our website You may also find us on facebook: Helping Shepherds of Every Color Rescue.
Dusty is a big goofy boy. He is good with other dogs but large dogs might be best due to his size. He is very strong and will need some leash manners. He will walk on a leash but he pulls very hard.
9/17/21 Dusty is currently undergoing treatment for Heartworms and will be available at the end of October. We would like to get him into a foster home for a couple weeks after treatment to further evaluate him and get to know him better.
1/31/22 Dusty has finished Heartworm treatment and is waiting for a new home. He will need an owner committed to exercising him and investing in some training. We suspect he has been an outside dog most of his adult life and has just been left to his own devices. He apparently does not like to be groomed or brushed so we will try to work on making that more desirable. Dusty loves to tear up stuffed toys and sometimes he just wants to carry one around. He lives in a foster home with two little dogs and he basically ignores them when they are out together. We do know he shared a kennel with another male dog smaller than him (most dogs are smaller than him) and he didn't fight with him. He is possibly good with cats but he does show some interest in critters like Squirrels or rats.
