Duke's story
Duke came to us from a kill shelter in North Carolina and he was on the short list, so we pulled him. He is such a sweet boy, a bit on the shy side, with no wonder with all he has been through, though he is coming out of his shell and doing so well. We think Duke is a Rottie, Lab, Border Collie mix, but it is all a guess. He is making friends with the 2 dogs in his foster home and with the 10 year old child that lives in the home. He does ok on a leash, but practice makes perfect. He is being crate trained and is doing well. He is mostly house trained. We think indoor living is something he never had. Duke weighs about 50 pounds but needs to gain 5 to 10 pounds; he was a bit undernourished when he came to us. His birthday is guessed to be 11-8-2015 making him about 3 years old. Duke would need a fenced in yard and would prefer to have another dog to hang out with.
Duke is neutered, micro chipped and up to date on his vaccines. If you are interested in Duke, please find out more about our adoption process and fill out an application at our website,
