Duke's story
Hi, my name is Duke. I am an older Lab mix breed gentleman of approximately 7 years. I get along well with other dogs like my foster brother and sister, but they tend to make me a little nervous when they are jumping around. So, I just stay clear. I am a little shy when I see other dogs and if I had a chance, I may play a game of chase with a cat. I can be properly cat tested if you would like. I see them in the yard once in a while and I tend to want to run over and say hi. I would love a quiet home where I can relax and live the good life with you.
I have been trained to go in my crate and I travel very well in a car. Recently, my foster parents took me on vacation with them in a car and I rode and rode... I just look out the window and see what it going on. I would love to be your travel companion and very best friend.
I must be doing really well with my potty training as I no longer need to go in my crate at night or when my foster parents leave, and I haven't had an accident. If you leave a blanket on the floor next to your bed, I will just lay down next to where you are. I am an early riser and will wake you up when I need to potty, usually around 6 am.
I have been neutered and I am up to date on my shots. I did have heart worms but I have been treated for them and have been doing very well. My foster family tells me I am a happy, healthy boy and I know that if you meet me, you will be a great friend.
I'm looking for my forever home and I would make a great pal. If you are interested in meeting me, I would love the opportunity to spend time with you. Fill out a non binding application here: http://forrescue.net/dog-application/, or email [email protected] to speak with my foster dad. I am a wonderful companion and would love to have my very own family!
Duke is fostered in Madison, Alabama. but is happy to travel where ever his new journey leads him.
