　　My name is Drake.

　　I am a friendly pug who enjoys spending time with people. I try my very best to show off my good behavior and I appreciate a gentle pat on the head to let me know I am doing a good job.

　　I enjoy naps and short walks, and I am very good on a leash.

　　If I exert myself too much (or get too excited), I start to cough a bit because I have a collapsing trachea. Unfortunately, I was overfed (a lot) before coming to APARN, but my foster mom has done a wonderful job getting lots of weight off me! I can't tell you how much better I feel because of that! You see, when I started losing weight, my cough got so much better.

　　I have a little more to lose and I really need to reach a healthy weight and maintain it. This means if you want to adopt me, you have to promise that you will keep up the healthy diet, and keep me at the right weight to help manage my health.

　　I have heard stories about pugs who lost weight in foster care, then got adopted and they were allowed to get fat.

　　I don't want that to happen to me! I love being able to breathe better, and cough less because I am at a healthy weight!

　　APARN is an all volunteer non-profit organization. We do not have a shelter. Our dogs are currently being fostered in private homes generally located throughout the greater Phoenix metro area.***
