Doolittle's story
Doolittle came to LAWS during the large cat rescue last Fall. He and his two siblings were trapped just in time.
He has been in foster care since and is doing very well. He is a little chunky as eating is one of his favorite activities. But he also likes to play- particularly when wand toys are available. Doolittles most favorite activity is lounging... specifically in the sun.
He has recently overcome his shyness and likes to snuggle now. Im certain that when he goes to his forever home it will take a little time to adjust. But he will become a snuggle bug as long as his new family is patient.
Doolittle likes scratching posts, soft blankets and beds, and playing with his brother and sister. He loves to drink water from the cat water fountain and is curious about birds and squirrels and things the wind blows by as he watches out the window.
Hes a laid back fella who enjoys treats and being petted on his back near his tail. Hes also been less inclined to explore places he shouldnt, like the kitchen counter or table. As long as he has plenty of cat toys, beds near windows, and cat trees, hes really good about staying off counters and tables. A spray bottle of water is a good deterrent as well, but is rarely needed with him.
Occasionally he will draw the line at affection and will put his teeth on our hands. At that point we simply remove our hands, say no bite, and give him a toy. He responds well to this method and it helps him know that we respect his boundaries and tolerance to affection. In return, he will seek affection appropriately and on his terms.
Doolittle gets along well with cats, kittens, and gentle dogs. He does really well with teenagers and would probably do well with older children.
He is a happy little guy who deserves a happy forever home
