  My story

IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION AT TCRESCUE.COM/ADOPT

Don Juan is a neutered adult brown and grey tabby, he is approximately 3 years old. His estimated birthdate is 8/29/20

Don Juan is a very handsome lover boy, hence his name! He was a stray for a couple of years living in a colony, until he disappeared for 6 months. He reappeared very skinny with a leg injury in July 2023, and was captured to see what could be done to help him. He was assessed to have an ACL tear on his hind right leg. Since he was a feral cat- injuries like this put cats at greater risk for being caught by predators. His now foster decided to help get him healthier again before releasing him, but surprisingly, it only took 3 days for him to realize what a good place the indoor life is and become a housecat! He loves his new life indoors and is very appreciative of having a safe space to sleep every night. Because of Don Juan's major personality transition, it was deemed he would be better off continuing to be an indoor/housed cat.

He has a beautiful brown and grey tabby coat, with a swirl pattern on one side and a flower spot on the other. He has bright green eyes, and also has abnormally long canine teeth. Don Juan can be cat selective and does not get along with the big male cat in his foster home (likely a remnant behavior trait of his stray days), but he gets along with the females and submissive males just fine. His ideal situation would be with someone who does not currently have a dominant personality cat. He can go with a friend or as a solo cat- he prefers to hang out with people more than other animals! He has also become very accustomed to the dogs in his foster home, and could do well in a home that has cat-savvy or mellow dogs. He would be best in a home without children as he does like to give love bites when you are playing with him, which don't hurt his foster caretaker, but would not be good with young kids.

Don Juan still limps on his hind right leg- his ACL tear is not completely healed, but it doesn't stop him from moving around or jumping on low tables. He is a big people person and just loves being cuddled. He likes being picked up and held like a baby while getting head scritches. He also lets you rub his belly without incident 75% of the time. Don Juan meows when he wants attention and loves being petted and fussed over- he just wants to show his love for his new home inside. Surprisingly he prefers dry food to wet food, but he needs to be kept in check with his feeding portions as he has gotten a bit chonky in his free feeding environment with the other foster cats. He had no trouble adjusting to using a litter box. He is such a sweet beauty- he'd make a perfect addition for someone who wants a lap kitty.

Don Juan is being fostered in Gilroy.

His adoption fee is $50. He is dewormed, vaccinated, microchiped, and neutered .

If Don Juan is adopted with one of his foster "siblings", the total adoption fee is only $65 for the pair!
