My story
The Stockton Animal Shelter regularly has cats that do not qualify to be part of the TNR program, but would not make suitable house pets. Our Barn Cat Program provides these cats a positive outcome while also providing rodent control in our community! These cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped or ear-tipped (an indication they have been spayed or neutered) and provided a rabies vaccination.Barn cats are an excellent provider of rodent control for farms, properties, or small ranches, and may or may not need a regular food source in addition to the rodent control they provide. A barn is not required to adoption a barn cat.
Barn cats do not have adoption fees and volunteers are available to deliver to your property. You do not need to live in the City of Stockton or San Joaquin County to adopt a barn cat. Please email us at [email protected] or stop by the shelter to adopt a cat who needs a job!
If you have any questions or would like to adopt , please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
