My story
This cat likely has a condition called `atresia ani with concurrent rectovaginal fistula`. This is when the butt hole is not open, but there is a hole coming from the colon entering the vagina. This makes the cat defecate through its vagina. This is a condition that she was likely born with. Additional diagnostics and treatment would be needed to correct this condition. Treatment may include surgery with a specialist, diet changes, and oral medications. Please follow up with your primary veterinarian for further recommendations. **Front Street Animal Shelter is commited to helping financially for this animal to be seen by a specialist for further work up. An appointment has been already scheduled with UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital.**
