　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　This is Lucas, a handsome short-haired blue-gray and white male - or also known as a European Shorthair, 4 years and 11 months old (10/12). He's a big boy at around 20 lbs. He was separated from his mother when he was about a week old, so he was bottle-fed by volunteers. He is friendly and loving, inquisitive and independent, just wanting to explore and test the waters. He does fine with other friendly cats, as long as he can have patience while adjusting to being the new cat on the block!

　　Experts (and the internet!) say European Shorthairs are quiet, dignified, hardy, sensible, placid and gentle. We think this describes Lucas very well, though he has a hint of a playful side to him! He is just a big baby, and could be your excellent cuddle buddy!

　　Lucas is negative for FIV and FeLK, current on vaccinations and has been neutered.

　　Our adoption fee is $75, a fee to help offset vet and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read up on our adoption process .
