　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　Please meet baby Toulouse, a tiny little male solid black kitten with fuzzy medium-length fur that could grow a little shorter or just get a little thicker as he grows. But the medium length and rounded shape of his head (esp. if his eyes grow more orange) remind us of the Bombay breed. He's one of three solid black kittens, so he could be a Bombay mix. His eyes are interestingly changing shades right now - they could go green or orange. Toulouse is just 10 weeks old (9/3/12)). He's a very lively, friendly guy! He loves to snuggle. 　　Negative for FIV/FeLK, has received first round of vaccinations. Final round can't be given until 3 to 4 weeks weeks after the previous set.

　　Since Toulouse is too young to be neutered, an additional $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit is required at time of adoption to reinforce state law for all shelter animals to be fixed before or after adoption - out-of-state adopters are not an exception to the law. The spay/neuter deposit is refunded later upon delivery of proof (a certificate or vet records) that the kitten has been fixed. Pediatric spaying/neutering is an option to discuss with your vet around 4 months of age.

　　Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and are as healthy as possible as soon as they are in our care. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors/legal dependents. Read up on our adoption process .
