　　The Humane Society of West Alabama's cat adoption center at 1515 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Appointments are available for other times with advance notice. We're all-volunteer and need at least a couple of days of advance notice to schedule appointments.

　　This teeny little guy is Hawthorn, a mostly black male kitten with some Bombay physical traits (like those gorgeous extremely rounded eyes instead of the typical crescent-shaped cat eye shape, for instance). He's approximately 12 weeks old (6-7-13). His fur may get a little shorter or stay a little shaggy as he grows. It'll be a surprise! Hawthorn is adventurous and cuddly! When he wants to be lazy, he'd prefer a lap or arms to nap in, a cute habit which may not change much in his adulthood. He loves seeking attention and being around people as much as possible. 　　Negative for FIV/FeLK, and current on vaccinations. Due to being underage for a spay/neuter surgery, adoption requires an additional refundable spay/neuter deposit to reinforce state requirements for all adopted pets to be fixed by age of maturity. Read our adoption process for more information.

　　Our flat adoption fee is $75, a fee to help defray a fraction of veterinary costs and general care expenses. Our adoptable animals have routine vet visits, and receive immediate vet care upon intake before being available for adoption. Vet records are provided to adopters. Read the descriptions thoroughly and note the specific personalities or special criteria we recommend (some are not good around kids, other cats, dogs, etc.). We cannot accept applications from minors or legal dependents. Read up on our adoption process .
