　　Background: This dog was born in the LA Dodgers dugout. No, that is not right. This dog was owned by Clayton Kershaw. Not really. This dog pitched a no hitter against the Giants in 2015. Nope. Named Dodger by LA fans who just happened to live in the SF Bay area. Correctamundo! But now his family must give him up as they are moving to Arizona (but remaining Dodger fans) and they cannot take him with them. A better life awaits Dodger with another family in the SF Bay area. Maybe it is also time to rename him Buster or Mad-Bum or Matt [Chapman].

　　What Dodgers owner says: We adopted Dodger from the Tri-City Animal Shelter in Fremont as a puppy, and have not enough time to devote to him. He gets along great with all people especially those that scratch and rub his belly. Dodger has very little experience with other dogs, but pays them little mind when he does encounter them.

　　What Dodgers Rescue Rep says: An outdoor dog, Dodger has been relegated to the backyard for many years. He is neither house-broken nor crate-trained. He knows no commands. He is rarely walked. He pulls on leash

　　never having learned how to walk on a leash. Dodger has spent 99% of his time in his backyard. Well, all of this is about to change! We will ensure Dodger will land in an active family that is ready to imbue him with a sense of inclusion and attention and that will be patient as he learns the basics for the very first time. We predict the following for Dodgers future: he will sleep indoors on an incredibly comfortable dog bed; he will get at least two good walks per day; he will be provided lots of opportunities to socialize with other dogs; he will learn how to walk comfortably on a leash; he will get to run free in open fields; he will become a San Francisco Giants fan

　　Medical Information: Dodger is in good overall health, and is due to see a vet for a full check-up and vaccinations. He is neutered and microchipped.

　　(Please keep in mind we are all volunteers, most of us work full time and we all have personal lives. When the dogs are in foster homes then it may take longer as we need to touch base with the fosters for updates on the dogs. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week and we do not have a facility that we keep the dogs housed in. They are scattered all over the Bay Area.)
